Hi! I’m Akash, a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) in Garching, Germany, and a member of the International Max Planck Research School on Astrophysics (IMPRS) at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich. I was also a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellow, hosted by the University of Tokyo.

My research explores how galaxies form and evolve across cosmic time, from the early Universe to the present day. I develop and test physically motivated, self-consistent models of galaxy evolution using cutting-edge, large-scale cosmological simulations and observational data to understand how galaxies grow, change their structure, form stars, and eventually stop forming them. Along the way, I use scientific and high-performance computing, statistical inference, and deep learning to improve these models and make them more predictive.
